2008 Top Global Humanitarian Crises

Doctors Without Borders has just released its 2008 list of the top humanitarian crises of the year.  I believe we all have a moral obligation to at least be aware of the struggles of our global community, if not find ways to offer support and aid.  I think U.S. nobel laureate and landmine activist Jodie Williams sums up our personal obligation best in saying, “soetimes , ignorance is bliss.  It’s not always fun to think about the problems of the world.  But most often, ignorance is only ignorance.  And if you hide in your ignorance, you abdicate your own possibilities of being a productive agent of change.”
