Yousuf Karsh

I fell in love with Boston’s MFA exhibit on him and then I was able to see a portion of the exhibit again at the Boston Public Library event for the AAP conference. His portraits captivate me. My two favorites are Einstein and Mother Teresa.A little about the MFA exhibit: Karsh 100: A Biography In Images is in celebration of the 100th birthday of renowned photographer Yousuf Karsh (1908–2002), they are hosting an exhibition of the great portraitist’s work, offering a visual biography of this twentieth-century legend. Born in Armenia, settling first in Canada and eventually in the United States, Karsh made a career photographing the world’s most distinguished statesmen, artists, literary figures, musicians, scientists, actors, and actresses. Traveling the globe, he gained access to virtually every great figure of his time.
