TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design. It started out (in 1984) as a conference bringing together people from those three worlds. Since then its scope has become ever broader. TED now has over 300 lecutures from some of the brightest “thinkers and doers who are challenged to give the talk of their lives (in 18 min)” and explain their wish to the world. In this extra time I am so fortunate to have, until my grant gets under full swing, I have time to make my way through these amazing 300 odd videos.  Below is the link to Bono’s lecture from a few years ago when he shared his vision of the ONE campaign. This video holds a special place in my heart as Bono shares what Africa, the continent and its “majestic people” as he describes them, means to him.  He voices so much of what I believe in.  The continent of Africa has brought some of the happiest and most difficult moments of my life.  It holds a power over me and I just can’t get enough of it.  Where my next desitination on the continent will be is currently up for debate . . .
